Welcome 2012!

Yesterday, I reviewed the year 2011 that had just past and reflected on what I have done and how I have shifted internally.

As I have written previously, it usually takes me about a month to vision in detail the year ahead.  Looking at my two vision boards for the last year (one personal and one for business) I see areas that have become focused and areas that are ready to expand.

I will take some time today to do some visioning about different areas of my life. I would like to revisit Fabienne Fredrickson’s idea about visioning out goals 3 years in the future.   I like this idea because it takes pressure off pushing towards goals, that is not my style.

I did take concrete steps on two personal goals:

Goal #1 – I am organized, systematized, efficient, creative and resourceful. This goal was written on a sticky note affixed to my computer for several months. Notice, that I stated this goal in the present tense as already being accomplished. Every day that I glanced at that statement, it went deeper into my subconscious. Ideas floated in my mind as to what organized and systematized would mean for me.

I already use part of David Allen’s, Get Things Done system. I love the weekly mind dump. I have been improving my schedule by color coding it to go with my energy flow and varied activities.  But breaking projects down into steps and tracking other items and keeping things accessible has been a challenge.

Then the office depot catalog came in the mail! Everything seemed to fall into place. I got 4 clip boards in different colors: one for my mind dump, one for my weekly schedule, one for client notes, one for my top 3 priorities for the day. I wrote my favorite affirmative prayer on my forms to inspire me in my day.
