Visioning With the End in Mind

Visioning with the end in mind is a practice that many coaches and mentors use to manifest desires in their life. Recently on a PBS special, Dr. Wayne Dyer discussed this practice and related concepts in his latest book, Wishes Fulfilled.

Manifesting can sometimes be a turn off for people who may be disillusioned by the Secret and the Law of Attraction. Dr. Dyer discusses how visioning with the end in mind helps retrain your subconscious mind. You can use your imagination to manifest what you want in your life. He suggests practicing daily the feelings you would feel if your wishes were fulfilled.

Dr. Dyer states that connecting with your subconscious is really connecting with your higher self, your spiritual self.

Visioning is not done just by people on a spiritual quest but by businesses as well. Creative Advantage is a company that works with business to create innovative breakthroughs. They discuss 4 types of innovative styles on their website.

People with a visionary style:

  • Trust their instincts and like to make decisions
  • Seek solutions that focus on maximizing potential
  • Visions provide direction, inspiration and momentum
  • Focus on a vision or path even if path to get there is uncertain

I would classify myself as a person with a visionary style. I use many techniques or practices when visioning, but my favorite is creating a vision board.

Recently, one of my clients was motivated to create a vision board after working with me. Eileen’s vision board is inspiring while providing direction. Her board has a clear focus while allowing space for the details to unfold. She also included her love of the outdoors and family, expressing her desire to have balance with all areas of her life.

The energy of Eileen's vision board even attracted her friend's cat.

Here is what Eileen had to say about her experience:

“I have worked with Catherine on several occasions and have found her principles and strategies very helpful. Over the last few months she has helped me focus on what I would like in moving from full time Critical Care Nursing in a hospital setting to a Reiki practice. She has given me ideas in how to incorporate Reiki into my work in the hospital with staff, patients and visitors. Catherine has helped me clear my doubts and emotions. I feel supported and confident in using my healing gifts. I am allowing the universe to open the right situations to me at the right time as I move towards my Reiki Practice.”
