The Tale of the Turtle and the Butterfly

In my last newsletter, I discussed that I would be lightening my schedule so I could focus and clear what no longer served me.

At first I jumped into action:

  • I got the taxes done and set up new systems.
  • I assisted and monitored my husband through a health challenge.
  • I decluttered the office and some of my computer files.

Then, I spent chunks of time on following where my energy wanted to go and almost magically things got done and new patterns of behavior started to develop.

turtleOne of the exciting things that was revealed to me (while reflecting on my next steps) was the image of a beautiful green turtle and an orange butterfly.

I shared this imagery with a buddy. I had always thought of myself as a butterfly. I like studying a lot of things, great at brainstorming and synthesing lots of information into simple patterns. A turtle, had previously seemed to me to be getting nowhere. However, as a result of my slowing down, the turtle now seemed to be patient and wise going one step at a time along its path.

butterflyThe butterfly seemed to represent my soul essence and the turtle represented my physical body mind. No matter how slow the turtle seemed to be going, it was being guided by the butterfly. The turtle was always in communication with the butterfly, all it had to do was look up.

I felt a deep shift within me and peace and excitement at the same time. My buddy commented, “Wow, Catherine, you really seem to get so much out of imagery.”

“Yes, I do. And so do my clients when I do guided imagery with them.”

I love guided imagery, it’s the intersection where my natural gifts and learned skills come together. And I would like to share more about it with you.

– Inner Vision Guidance Sessions –

guided_imageryIn these sessions, I create a safe place where we journey with guided imagery; so you can see your inner landscape and hear how your inner self or wise self speaks.

One of my clients was stuck in how to move forward in her business and had developed a cold that would not go away. In her session she saw a hammock by the river. As she climbed in the hammock, several past life scenes showed up as beliefs that were blocking her. As we talked through these scenes, she had an a-ha as to where to move next in her business. Within a few days, she felt physically better and clients were calling her.

Another client and I had been working on healing her body using homeopathy, herbs and food. However, she would get afraid when trying to do get her own answers. In one of her sessions, she saw a shawl. It reminded her of the shawl that her aunt had given her as a young girl. She had always felt nurtured, safe and secure with her aunt. She decided to bring this image of the shawl into her meditations daily.

Sometimes the imagery is just for one situation and sometimes the imagery is used regularly.

What I love about these guided sessions is that the imagery comes from within you. I help you see what you couldn’t see, hear what you couldn’t hear and express what you previously unable to express.

I am so excited to share this process with more people. I am opening up 6 spaces in my schedule. If you are interested in seeing if an Inner Vision Guidance Session is for you, or have further questions, Email me: Catherine@catherinerosestevens.com so we can set up a time to talk.

I look forward to sharing with you.
