Sitting With Uncertainty – Shifting to Focus

Well, it has been quite a long time since my last newsletter. I usually like to connect every two weeks. However, May was quite an active month for me with lots of physical activity and emotional processing. Although I will try to recall and write about these events they did not happen in a linear fashion.

John_Cath_1994*As May approached, there were many thoughts about May 9th which was the one year anniversary of my husband’s passing. The term “anniversary” was strange to use. My friends called and wrote asking what I was going to do to mark his passing and what support did I want?

I had been quite busy decluttering and going through John’s things. I had cleared the storage unit of his books and collectibles. I had gone through boxes of household items that were never unpacked from when we downsized from Connecticut to Arkansas.

Somehow I thought that once everything was cleared, I would find a sense of closure and move on with life. But there is no ending, there is still connection and memories and what matters is “how I choose to be” with all that is “moment by moment.”

I decided to stop clearing and rest when I found out about my dear friend’s health challenge. Other friends decided to have a benefit tag sale to help out with her expenses. I was able to donate many of our special items to the sale.

** In addition to physical clearing, I have been very much interested in clearing family patterns. I have been doing a lot of this work on my own. I decided to join Carol Tuttle’s Soul Print Healing for Affluence. While it is a very good course and Carol has some wonderful meditations, I found it to be overwhelming. Each class session has 4 parts and several pages for answering questions. The material presented goes very, very fast. I needed more time to process them. I started by skipping the workbook pages, that was better. But I was not able to listen live each week as it was late at night in my time zone.

At first, I thought that I had been wrong to sign up for the class. But rather than make myself wrong for not being able to catch up, or do it a certain way, I could change my pattern. I now view the classes as a wonderful resource. All the material is available for download on line by Mind Valley. I can enjoy the class sessions at the right time and the right pace for me.

***My natural learning style is a synthesizer. I gather information and insights as I process in multiple ways leading to ah ha moments and changes in perspectives. Letting go of the structured class, I was led to watch some Abraham Hicks YouTube videos, read passages from Debbie Ford’s book (The 21 day consciousness cleanse) and chat with other entrepreneurs about our similar experiences.

journey_home**** And my Ah-ha moment came while reading The Journey Home by Kryon. The story is told as a parable. The main character is trying to follow his spiritual guidance and he has a map. He opens the map and on it is a small red dot that says YOU ARE HERE. Nothing else appears on the map until it is the right time and he is in the right place. And then the map only shows the next step.

We are all undergoing our own spiritual journey as well as participating in the collective evolution of everyone on the planet.

Peace, love, and light, moment by moment, until we meet again.

P.S. I find it helpful when things are in a whirlwind to have an umbrella to hold onto. My umbrella is usually to set an intention. Some examples of intentions I have used are:

  • It is my intention to release what no longer serves me.
  • It is my intention to align with my inner knowing.

Or choose statements for the day:

  • Today I choose to feel peaceful, inspired and unhurried.
  • Today I choose to feel comfortable in my body, clear of mind and creative.

Then observe what shows up in your life and respond from that space.
