Lemon Water for Health

I was reading an article about Reiki and the link took me to You Tube, where I was reminded of a simple health practice that I had done before but not consistently.

There were several videos on drinking freshly squeezed lemon in a glass of water every morning. Lemon juice, an acid outside the body is alkaline acting in the body. The more alkaline your body, the healthier you will be. Lemon juice also helps to cleanse the gall bladder aiding in elimination of toxins.

Lemon juice is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. You can drink lemon juice in either cold or warm water. I prefer my lemon juice in hot water.

Another great idea is to add the lemon juice to freshly made ginger tea. You can add a little bit of honey to sweeten. Ginger has many wonderful properties. It helps circulation, is anti-inflammatory and helps with digestion.

The ginger lemon tea is very soothing. Quick tip, use a ceramic peeler to easily peel the skin off the ginger root.
