Creating Conscious Change

There’s so much talk about change — climate change, societal change, economic restructuring, eating healthier, spiritual growth, conscious awareness and after awhile it’s hard to focus.

For those of us who have been around awhile, we need time to ponder our actions, we are not inclined to rush forth in a direction without considering as many perspectives as possible.

And yet the desire to change, really the desire to grow to evolve, to express that within us that is wanting to be birthed, can be challenging.

Every area of growth requires a commitment of time and energy. And once the commitment is made to a direction it often requires changing our habits, beliefs, and feeling uncomfortable. And often change requires waiting, sitting in the unknowing, listening for right timing.

I have this affirmation on a notebook size piece of paper near my computer.

Everything I need comes to me at the perfect time.

This beautiful calming phrase clashes with my other affirmation.

I release everything that I no longer need.

And often, like a little child, I ask the universe, “Is it time yet?” “When is this project coming together?” “How do I declutter slowly when I want it all gone now?” “You mean I am still dealing with this issue?”

And finally I remember to breathe deeply, or talk to a friend and we laugh recognizing ourselves trying to break through the cocoon before it is time.

What are some things that can help you during times of change:

  • Breathe deeply and be in the moment
  • Listen to your intuition
  • Stay inspired by reading or listening to positive visions
  • Visualize what you desire and feel it as already here
