Signs and Synchronicities
I went out to lunch recently with my husband at one of my favorite places
“Rose Stop.”
Rose Stop is a combination, gas station, mini grocery store and delicatessen featuring middle eastern foods (at the corner of Sunset Ave. and Pleasant St. in Springdale, Arkansas).
My husband had a falafel sandwich and I had a gyro sandwich.
I began thinking about how we originally found this place. Amongst all the gas stations that we had past while learning our way about town, I noticed Rose Stop because of the name “rose”. You see “rose” is very important to me. I changed my name to “Catherine Rose”. It was also my maternal grandmother’s name. The flower “rose” itself has many connotations of love.
The first few times that we stopped for gas, I did not get out of the car. But one day, I got out of the car to stretch and noticed the sign ~ Rose Stop~ International Delicacy. I went in and saw that they made “gyro sandwiches” with lamb. I decided to try one. It was delicious. And it was made and served by the lovely, smiling “Rose.”
