Creating Change in Your Life Using Vision Boards
My very first vision board created a major change in my life. At that time, 1991, I knew nothing about the law of attraction or vibration. In the 9 years since my 2nd divorce, one of my dreams or desires, that of meeting my life partner, eluded me. Therefore, I decided to do some serious consciousness raising and some work on manifesting a miracle in my life.I meditated, wrote in my journals, sought out spiritual counselors, and asked for a spirit guide. Nothing shifted for me. I decided to create a “treasure map” an idea I read about in Catherine Ponders’ book Open Your Mind to Prosperity.
The process of creating the vision board allowed me to dream of what I wanted and imagine other possibilities and goals. Time disappeared as I was in the flow of happily cutting and pasting pictures and writing affirmations. After I finished my vision board, I was uplifted and inspired and motivated to move more in the direction of what I wanted in my life.
I placed the vision board where I could see it every day. I was inspired to create a list of qualities of what I was looking for in a partner and relationship. The universe responded to my inner delight.
I found a tape Attracting Love – Drawing Your Soulmate to You by Dick Sutphen. The video tape consisted of colorful images and audio suggestions. I would play the tape several times a week. I then began to visualize my partner walking through the front door of my condo saying, “Hi honey! I’m home!”
I drew a picture of my partner and me, and wrote positive statements about what we each would give and receive in the relationship.
A friend of mine met a wonderful man on a job interview. She remarked how similar our ideas were. She gave him my phone number. We spoke everyday for a week until our first date. We met… and John and I have been together ever since.
